As Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, his youngest, Barron — who has often caught attention for his towering 6-foot-9 frame — had the internet abuzz yet again, but this time for his apparent hair loss.
The 18-year-old’s thinning hair has been the topic of Twitter/X chatter over the past couple of days, with one user commenting: “It looks like Barron Trump’s hairline is already receding. It’s getting thin up there. Apple and tree?”
Dr Gizem Seymenoğlu, a hair loss specialist, revealed her opinion on whether Barron’s seeming hair loss was due to his gelled, slicked-back hairstyle or actual thinning.
Dr Gizem said: “I believe Barron is indeed suffering from hair loss — much like his own father. His frontal hair is likely thinning due to androgenetic alopecia or pattern hair loss, which is primarily a genetic condition that can be inherited from either parent.”
Bizarrely, however, the expert noted that both Donald and Barron Trump seemed to be experiencing female pattern hair loss.
“Interestingly, it looks like both Donald and Barron have female pattern hair loss because their hair is thinning all over the scalp, and their hairlines haven’t exactly receded, which is typical of this type of hair loss. In contrast, male pattern hair loss begins with the recession of the hairline. However, as can be seen, both father and son have retained their frontal fringe while experiencing thinning at the top,” she further explained.
Additionally, Dr Gizem said: “Stress could be further contributing to Barron’s hair loss, given that he is still a teenager, albeit a very high profile one who has just been thrust into the spotlight as the son of the President.”
The medical expert offered advice on how Barron might prevent and treat his hair loss, suggesting non-surgical treatments such as boosting hair density with PRP or using the recently trending polynucleotides. She also recommended stress management as a way for Barron to stop his hair loss.
