Hair transplant in Turkey are very common procedures and helps people to get their hair back. It has provided a permanent solution to many people who had been suffering from hair loss and spending money on temporary solutions such as hair fibres, medications, and wigs. As the United Kingdom’s first choice to medical travel to Turkey, we provide affordable and high-quality hair transplant in Turkey and help many people to say goodbye to their baldness, providing them with latest-technique treatments by reputable surgeons at top-rated facilities. Although the number of people who are benefiting from a hair transplant is increasing day by day, unfortunately, there are some cases in which hair transplant can’t be performed. Let’s have a look at the things that may affect the possibility of a hair transplant operation.
Blood Test Result
It’s a standard process to take blood tests before any surgery. It applies to hair transplant in Turkey as well. At the hospital, the nurses will take a blood test to check whether or not the patient is suitable for the surgery. If the patient has certain conditions such as HIV and Hepatitis C, hair transplant can’t be performed since it’s risky for the patient since she or he will be more likely to experience problems stemming from invasive surgery such as wound infection. At the end of the day, the most important thing is the health and wellbeing of our patients.
Insufficient Donor Area
To understand how the quality of the donor area determines the possibility of the hair transplantation surgery, let’s have a look at the basics of the procedure. During the surgery, hair is taken from the donor area which is the backside of the head, above the neck and between the ears. Then, the extracted grafts are transplanted into the balding areas. If the patient has no hair in the donor area, it’s not possible to perform a successful hair transplant in Turkey or anywhere else since there are no available grafts to harvest.
Refusing the Treatment Plan
Before the surgery, there is a consultation session that enables the surgeon to examine the patient and inform him/her about the number and distribution of the available grafts on the scalp as well as the design of the new hairline. If the patient agrees with the treatment plan, they can proceed to the surgery. In some cases, there may not be enough grafts on the patient’s donor area to cover all the bald areas with full density. In those cases, the surgeon may suggest focusing on the frontal area which is more visible than other parts of the head and providing lower density at the top with the remaining grafts. The surgeon listens to the patient and tries to come up with a treatment plan that is most suitable for the patient and meet the patient’s needs. But sometimes, after the examination and discussions, the patient could not approve any plan, change her/his mind and choose not to proceed.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Women during pregnancy experience some hormonal changes which might lead to some problems including hair loss. Since pregnancy may also come with a high-stress level for the mother-to-be, this also causes hair loss. In fact, hair loss is a very common side effect during pregnancy. Therefore, many women look for a cure to get their hair back and consider having hair transplant in Turkey. However, we don’t recommend having hair transplantation surgery during pregnancy. After you have recovered from the birth, you could be eligible for a hair transplant in Turkey. Similarly, women who breastfeed are also recommended to postpone their treatment since the anaesthesia and medications might affect the breastfeed and be harmful to the baby.
Some skin diseases such as folliculitis and psoriasis may constitute an impediment to hair transplantation. To perform the surgery, they need to be healed first. You may consult a dermatologist before planning hair transplantation.
