Recovery From Eyelash Transplant
Eyelash extension surgery is rapidly growing in popularity. Beauty trends have encouraged the overuse of harmful make-up, glues and chemicals that could have reduced or damaged the hair follicles on the eyelid. This would have impaired eyelash growth and ultimately, reduced confidence in how individuals look. Eyelashes are also vitally important for the cleanliness of our eyes.
Eyelash extension surgery is a long-term solution for short, stubby eyelashes or natural hair loss in this area. Eyelash extension surgery works in the same way as other hair transplant procedures, wherein a donor area from the scalp is used to harvest follicles, these are known as grafts. A surgeon will then transplant the grafts onto the line of the eyelid. Longevita’s experienced surgeons ensure that the transplants are placed evenly, for maximum client satisfaction and to ensure the transplant surgery meets beauty standards and the motivation behind the surgery. At Longevita, our eyelash transplant surgeons are also careful to ensure the chosen graft hairs will resemble the eyelashes to achieve a natural look.
The impressive results allow people to enhance the appearance of their existing eyelashes or combat natural hair loss factors. Eyelash transplant procedures continue to grow in popularity because they are super easy and prevent patients from forking out for eyelash treatments such as LVL (Length Volume Lifts) and false extensions which rely on chemicals and need re-doing every 4-8 weeks. This makes eyelash extension surgeries cost effective procedures. Eyelash transplant cost is a one-time payment and can give you the eyelashes of your dreams. It prevents patients from ever seeing unqualified lash-technicians ever again.
Eyelash transplant cost is also extremely competitive. At Longevita, eyelash transplant cost includes;
- Personalised treatment plan
- Shampoo, Lotions and products to use
- 12-month aftercare support
- So much more!
Eyelash Transplant Aftercare
It is vital to follow all the instructions given to you by your surgeon. Post-operative instructions can also impact the success-rate and style of regrowth following eyelash extension surgery. It is important to follow post-operative care instructions as they will also be tailored to your individual treatment plans. These will be mapped out according to the reason for your eyelash loss and the overall look you are trying to achieve.
Individuals lose eyelashes for a whole host of reasons, many of which are the same as natural hair loss that occurs on the scalp or other body areas. It is also quite natural to have uneven hair growth, which means you have a full, healthy head of hair, but limited eyebrows or eyelashes. This is often a result of genetics but can leave many people feeling self-conscious. Other reasons for eyelash hair loss, include:
- Beauty Routines
- Habits & Compulsions
All patients should meet with the surgeon to understand and adhere to the following instructions to care for their eyelashes (and donor area) after extension surgery:
How To Wash After Eyelash Extension Surgery
You may continue to wash your eyelashes 24 hours after your procedure has taken place, but it is vital to follow the instructions given to you by your surgeon or clinical team. They will instruct you how to wash without dislodging the implantations. They also provide other information including optimal temperature, water pressure and the timeframe for re-introducing normal washing.
It is important not to rub or vigorously touch the transplant area.
How To Care For The Donor Area
Hair grafts are extracted from the scalp in exactly the same way as how the FUE hair transplant grafts are taken. A small area on the scalp (usually the back or somewhere hidden) will be shaved to harvest the follicles from. This is known as the donor area. Don’t worry, Longevita take care to ensure we cut the eyelashes to size, but this is the best way to achieve results.
It is important to keep the donor area clean and dry for the 24 hours following transplant.
Why You Need To Avoid The Sun
Transplanted skin is very sensitive, particularly to the effects of the sun. This is because the particles of hair, known as chromatophores, need to recover from the transplant. Chromatophores often die or become inactive during transplantation but the re-growth period will seem them revitalise. New grafts are still in the mature stage and cannot protect themselves from the sun.
All incisions or marks on the skin are particularly susceptible to sunburn, too. This can cause swelling and pain, which is important to avoid after eyelash transplant surgery!
The clinic will advise on how to best protect the transplant area and the donor area from the sun. This can help to maximise the results of eyelash extension surgery.
Restrictions On Spa Days – Stay Out The Pool & Sauna
You will have to limit how much time you spend in the sauna or the pool for a month after your eyelash treatment. The clinic will be able to advise you further, but chlorine and chemicals can be particularly harmful to the sensitive transplant site.
Eyelash transplant procedures can give you the luscious lashes you’ve always dreamed of and restore your confidence. Eyelash transplant cost also means you can cut down on your monthly beauty bill.
